Michael Andersen & Sons, Denmark triangular bowl designed by Marianne Starck Collector´s item! A beautiful rooster / cock is the decoration of this triangular bowl by Marianne Starck for the legendary Danish pottery Michael Andersen & Sons. It´s probably from the 1960s. The glaze is in Persia technique Persia technique, a special craquelee technique developed at the Michael Andersen & Sons pottery by Daniel Andersen in the 1930s. They won a gold medal for this at the World´s Fair in Brussel in 1935. This one has a lot of the beautiful red lustre! On verso ythe Michael Andersen hallmark – a shield with 3 fishes (heering) which also is the coat of arms for the town Rønne where the pottery was situated – MS for Marianne Starck, and the model number which looks like 5660. Condition Excellent good used condition No chips, cracks or repairs. The crazing is of course intended. She was a graphic artist and came from Northern Germany to the pottery on the island Bornholm in the 1950s. She stayed there until it closed in 1993 and made a lot of great designs there always renewing her artistic language. A very talented and versatile artist. Just also mention your destination.
