This is a rare set of 6 orange Mid Century Modern Heller Max 2 by Massimo Vignelli cups & saucers, new in a box. The cups and saucers are stackable – they have rims that keep them securely together. The rims also allow for the cups to stay in place on the saucers and not to slide. The handles of the cups are U-shaped. The set is a rare bright orange shade and comes in a box. Each cup holds about 10 oz of liquid and teach saucer is about 5 3/4 in diameter. A cup and a saucer weigh about 6 oz together. The whole box weighs about 2 lb 11 oz. The cups and saucers are very well proportioned and are a typical example of the Mid Century Modern design. The Heller Max 2 by Massimo Vignelli cup and saucer set is featured on the Museum of Fine Arts Boston website in the European contemporary art collection. The set has never been used and is in an excellent shape. The box has a few marks, typical for its age (see pictures). This is a great addition to any MCM kitchen collection.
