For Sale Rare Vintage Mid Century Gerald Thurston for Lightolier Anywhere Lamp. I don’t say RARE very often. Just check out my listings. This is an exception. I have examples all over my house. Designed by Gerald Thurston in 1955, so a LONG TIME AGO. It is called an Anywhere lamp as you can put it almost, well, ANYWHERE. Hanging on a wall, as a table lamp, it is completely up to you. Thurston, what a clever fella. In excellent vintage shape but does not have the original shade. It once had a slatted, woven shade. The one I have works great but isn’t original. I have only seen 2 other examples of this and both had cracked/discolored plastic diffusers. This one is EXCELLENT. Other than that in really great shape. The switch works great. No electrical or mechanical issues. A rare and wonderful item, you will love it. DIMENSIONS – all approx. 19 with the shade in a normal position. Shade itself is 17 across. OBJECT: Gorgeous vintage and ALL ORIGINAL and Un molested pair of wrought iron hairpin leg table lamps! CONDITION: Very Good vintage condition! Both function as they should one bulb is burnt out and will need to be replaced. There is some to be expected light corrosion and patina to the brass details the hairpin legs are in excellent condition the finials are solid brass the wiring and plugs are all original. A hard to find counter balance swag lamp from Lightolier, probably designed by Gerald Thurston in the early 1950s. The lamp is all orignal except for a new cord, plug, socket insulator and socket enclosure insulator. The switch mechanism is original and can use a 3 – way bulb. The lamp stir has a partial Lightolier sticker on the inside of the shade. The lamp shade is approximately 15 inches wide and 4 inches tall, the greatest difference from wall is 20 2/4 inches, approximately 10 feet of black nylon wrapped cord with a black vintage inspired plug. THE LAMP IS PRESENTED FOR SALE “AS IS” AND IS NOT RETURNABLE OR REFUNDABLE. THIS IS A PRE-OWNED ITEM, IT IS NOT “NEW” OR “MINT”. The lamp offered for sale will be carefully packed using bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts and a rigid cardboard box (24″ x 24″ x 24). Very Rare Mid Century Lightolier Gerald Thurston Tension Pole Scissor Lamp…. One of Gerald Thurston’s contributions to lighting design, the “scissor lamp” stands as a seminal work, inaugurating the designer within the ranks of Mid-Century icons. Featuring metal and brass, its definitive of the functional design characteristic to Mid-Century Modernism furnishings. Condition is used functional. The scissor mechanism and adjustments function fine. Lamp has no mesh diffuser screen and On Off button may need replacement or adjustment although it turns on when plugged in. Spring tension unit in pole housing supports perfect when placed in vertical position. This is the original scissor pole mount lamp and not the more common wall mount type. This is a nearly 50 year old item and appears to have the standard wear and use. Pole Length- 105.5. Any questions, please ask before purchasing. Avocado Green Gerald Thurston Cricket desk Lamp! These lamps in good condition are becoming very collectible. The lamp is in good vintage shape with some missing brass coating on original knobs and the top surface of the v-shaped base. The fiberglass shade has no cracks or chips however it has subtle discolorations on the top of the lamp from old light bulb heat. Three original-style clips have been hand-fabricated in stainless steel. After hours of research, located a company which made a custom diffuser. This Cricket is ready to plug in and enjoy! Both side screws and knobs are original and threads are not stripped however this design is top heavy on the cord side and likes to flip up. General information: I recommend placing it where you don’t need to move it a lot and always tighten screws gently. Please remember that pre-owned items have may have surface scratches and wear areas. The photos are a large part of the description.
