I have been going through my late mothers belongings. She saved many of these pretty lady heads from the 1950s/1960s among her more treasured decorative china. I do not know anything about them except that she kept them untouched & protected for years in her China Closet. This is vintage extremely RARE Impossible to. Very Hard to Find Character Lady Headvase. She is the LAST member of the 4 piece set that I have in my collection. It is therefore very very difficult for me to let her go. She has been cherished for as many years as she is old. Walt Disney SNOW WHITE character Lady head Vase dated 1964. A mid-20th century’Head Vase’, copyrighted by Walt Disney, exceptional condition. The original ads also suggested that she would make a nice comb and brush holder. There were 4 in this series… Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and Mary Poppins. All 4 are listed in David Barron’s “Head Vases” on page 192. Snow White would benefit from a cleaning. After all, this lady has not had a bath in close to 60 years. There are no nicks, chips, cracks or repairs. She is 55 years old but still looks amazing from a distance and shows no imperfections, however, up close and using a magnifying glass, there may be. Imperfections, as you can also view in the magnified photos. These imperfections are consistent with the age of the head vase. Crazing , a few surface only scratches, and minor paint rubs as shown in photos and marks that appear in pictures are often associated with the age of this head vase. Crazing in ceramics is due to the natural aging process of the ceramic materials. Crazing is normal in many of these vintage items. Crazing appears in the glazed surface of a fired ware; A craze is different from a crack in that it cannot be felt on the surface and it can continue to support a load. The vase is NOT compromised as far as the integrity of the item is concerned. These head vases were originally made to be disposable as florist delivered flowers in them.
