For sale is a 5 cm (2 inch) cube acrylic hourglass designed by Tapio Wirkkala and produced in the 1960s. It was commissioned by Mannerheimin Lastensuojelulitto and is marked Lapselle (for a child). It is in very nice shape for being around a half a century old and makes a great desk accessory. It does have some light scratching on the top and bottom which is to be expected for something of its age. There are a couple of dings on one edge of the cube which you can see in the photos. There is also a small fracture near the top which I have captured in the photo. I have come across a number of these and I have never seen a flawless one, but this one displays very nicely. There are some fine scratches on the top and bottom which do not detract from the piece. There are also some round marks on the inside of the hourglass which you can see in the photos.
