EARLY AND RARE SPECIAL FRONT SURROUND MOUNTS THAT STRENGTHEN THE SHOCK MOUNTS– ORIGINAL “DOMES OF SILENCE” FEET– ZEELAND, MI LABEL. THE CHAIRS HAVE AN OLDER CLEAN REFINISH AND AS YOU CAN SEE ON INSPECTION OF PHOTOS IT LOOKS LIKE THIS CHAIR ORIGINALLY HAD A RED ANILINE FINISH. HINTS OF RED COLOR IN VARIOUS PLACES– THE SHOCK MOUNTS ON SEAT BACK LOOK TO HAVE BEEN. ONE SMALL TOP CHIP IN THE REAR OF SEAT AND A FEW TIGHT STABLE CRACKS ON THE BACK SEAT TOP EDGE–(SEE PHOTOS). Color is Rimini blu circa 1950-196; the glaze is rich blue with dark blue-black edge, hundreds of hand imprinted design details which makes this piece stand out. Measures approximately 6 wide by 6 high (7.25 high with lid in place). In excellent condition; feels rough around the opening which is typical of this heavily glazed and incised line of ceramics – There is a glaze flaw or miss on the rim which has partial coloration – which is typical for this ceramic – please see our photos as they are part of our description. Interior is very clean with no signs of use nor stains. The bottom of the jar is well marked and has part of the original label intact. We are long time collectors of pottery / ceramics – this is a great example of Mid Century Modern ceramics and would look great in any interior. We are a non smoking, pet free household. Listed for sale is a very special piece for Eames collectors and admirers of their work. This is an all original D20 desk, part of the ESU or Eames Shelving Unit group. He was an admired photographer who worked for Former President Eisenhower at one point in time. The desk was always cared for and loved. It was always in a climate controlled space and looks as if it had been preserved delicately since new, but shows no alterations and has not been restored in any way. This may be one of the nicest and cleaning examples of an ESU series desk that exists. It is truly spectacular and essentially mint. Further provenance is easily accessible and can be included with the desk if desired. Also, all boot glides have been retained and are original. Measurements are 29.5 x 60 x 28 inches. Near perfect condition with minimal scratching and light signs of use. Metal Base and Drawers. The metal is all completely original and shows light oxidation, as one would hope for with an original piece like this. The drawers are all in lovely condition. Paint on the sliding elements has chipped, but is only visible when looking inside at the sliders. And I will make sure that it is as inexpensive for you as possible.
