Not everyone has a green thumb and we all know that Orchids can be especially tricky to grow. As the three “flowers” here are attached to three very tall stems and the leaves at the base are also very tall, I made the executive decision to describe this lamp as a MID CENTURY representation of an Orchid. Three metal “branches” extend from the main center stem and sit in three different positions with off-white 9″ x 4 1/4″ fiber glass shades on each. The shorter of the two leaves adds a SPECIAL FEATURE as it can be rotated at the base a full 360 degrees! Keep it positioned opposite the tall leaf or move it very close…. Design can be suited to your taste! There are a few dots of use/age paint wear adds charm! And a bit of mottling inside one leaf. Two old light bulb bases will need to be removed… Haven’t we all needed to do that once in a while?? See the third light functioning just fine!! Up for sale is a beautiful and rare R&Y Augousti (PHILIPPINES) inlaid bamboo art vase measuring 20 inches tall and about 8+ inches at its widest. Clearly stamped on the bottom “R&Y Augousti ” Philippines and is ready to enter any collection or modern homes design. There are some bamboo circles. In various colors to accent the vase This is a rare modern designer vase so if you have any questions please feel free to ask them prior to purchasing. This vase is in very good vintage condition with a small size blemish in one of the bamboo rings. It is pictured in the picture # 10. More pictures upon request. I have in inluded a story of the creators of this art work if you care to read. R&Y Augousti was founded in 1989 by husband-wife duo Ria & Yiouri Augousti. Their artistic backgrounds brought them together as innovators in their field by reviving the artisanal techniques of shagreen and other exotic materials that were predominant in the Art Deco period of the 1930s. Through their mix of vintage and contemporary design their furniture and home accessories brand were met with worldwide praise. From a debut collection for the luxurious Hotel Crillon in Paris, to exclusive collections for luxury stores like Barneys New York & Bergdorf Goodman, they finally opened their flagship store on the famous Rue Du Bac in 7th arrondissement of Paris, France. From this they began to work closely with worldwide famous interior designers, architects and celebrities to create custom pieces for their homes and projects all within keeping to the Augousti universe. Although shagreen is their signature DNA, R&Y Augousti are known as pioneers of pattern mixes of exotic materials of shagreen, shell, parchment, eel-skin, semi-precious stones, snakeskins and metal. Their stunning patterns are identifiable by their worldwide clientele. Continuing and honoring the heritage of Augousti, their daughter recently opened a showroom in New York called KIFU PARIS, that carries the R&Y Augousti collection, her fiancée’s sculptural candle collection- Patrick Coard Paris-, and her own furniture and home accessories.

This is a super RARE pair of Italian table lamps made by the Marbro Company. Mid century modern era. Each measures a tall 25″ to top of pineapple bases and 46″ to top of finials. Ebonized wood bases and matching finials. Lamps are well marked. Condition: Other than a small chip on the base of one lamp, which has been colored in, these lamps are in excellent condition and in working order. The year 1949 was an Important year for the pottery when Dr. Moosberg became a main partner in the factory and the factory changed its original goal of making tiles and sanitary wares – to producing Art Pottery which is the Lapid Pottery most people are now familiar with. Lapid is certainly reminiscent of both Danish and West German pottery at the time, which is probably what attracts me to it.. But at the same time there is nothing else quite like it. What I love about it is the pure Modernist nature of it – with the wonderful patterns, colours and designs. The measurements are about 18″ tall, the diameter of the base is about 6 3/4″ and the measurement across the top including the handle is about 9 1/2 this should be in a museum as it is the largest piece of Lapid pottery I have seen.
