Size: 7″ tall x 6.85″ wide. This looks like a very early piece from Elmer Taylor, signed on the bottom with a chop mark on the edge and lacking the ET that he put on his later work. This vase has a much more mid century modern feel than his later work, but you can see the beginnings of the abstract glaze patterns he would later be known for. The vase is in excellent condition.

Pasadena, San Jose, San Jose City College Mid Century Modernist style Studio Art Pottery. Hand built rectangular shaped bottle vase with figural incised sgraffito designs on all four sides. Matte slate blue-gray glaze with hints of lavender and sienna. Very reminiscent of the work of Edwin & Mary Scheier, Marguerite Wildenhain, Edna Arnow, Raul Coronel, and others. Beautiful matte glazed surface over oxide enhanced figural designs. Buff colored stoneware ceramic body. Incised “SALISIAN” at underside. In Excellent vintage condition with no damages we can find other than what appears to be an open glaze bubble pop at foot near a corner, barely visible. Measures approximately 7.25 inches tall, and 6 x 3 inches in diameter. Weighs approximately 3.50 lbs. Will weigh between 5 and 6 lbs packaged. More pics upon request. Offering a unique abstract design ceramic lamp made by RTM Ceramiche artistiche Bassano del Grappa. The design shows flowing curves all around the lamp a unique shape designed in ITALY. THE Condition is good, the ceramic glaze shows some parts that has age related crackling in the paint (cannot be felt to the touch) the only thing to point out is a small chip on the edge of the base (shown in last photo). Still has the original label on the base. The lamp is 40 cm in height and width is approx 27 cm. Weight is 2460 grams so quite heavy. The lamp needs to be rewired.
