RARE Arthur Espenet Carpenter teak bowl signed and dated'56
A hand-turned old growth teak bowl with very thin sides that measures 8 1/4″ diameter X 4″ tall. It is signed “Espenet” “Teak” and dated “’56”. The bowl has (3) brass plugs on the bottom to fill the holes left by the screws that attached the blank to the lathe. The sides of the bowl are extremely thin. Very hard to find another bowl by Espenet inscribed with the date. In good original condition with untouched original surface. Arthur Espenet Carpenter (1920 -2006) was an important early proponent of Studio Woodwork in Bolinas, CA. In 1950 his work was chosen for the MoMA’s Good Design Exhibits.

Very rare and hart to find Merle F Faber Products S. 12 round Modernist bowl with a rolled lip. It has a flat 7 bottom. Appears to be composed of silver plate and in pre-owned condition. It shows consistent signs of use and wear for its age including surface scratches, swirling and light loss to small areas of the top coat. The piece is signed Merle F Faber Products, S.
