Up for sale is a beautiful, rare piece of California studio art pottery created by modernist ceramist Mark D. Fleming was an accomplished artist who studied under the legendary Marguerite Wildenhain at the renowned Pond Farm community in Guerneville, California, earning his MFA in 1963. This hand-thrown stoneware piece showcases Fleming’s signature modernist aesthetic. It features an earthy, speckled matte glaze accented by incised geometric linear patterns and dark abstract slip details. The distinct flared silhouette is topped with its original, perfectly fitted lid featuring a striking dark-rimmed button knob. The bottom is incised with the artist’s authentic mark.

Rare Mid century modern occasional chair known as the Gazelle chair by Shelby Williams. This is the original design with the back support posts flared to the side of the backrest instead of partially hidden by the back rest. Each chair has tear in the black vinyl upholstery on the seat. The aluminum frame is in good condition overall – some light scuffing/scratching. Some patina to the aluminum frame. 20″ x 20″ 18″SH 31″H.
