Incredibly Scarce Adrian Pearsall Craft Associates 1929-S sofa. Reupholstered complete with new foam and straps in a Knoll Little Devil Night Sky fabric. Walnut Legs and Arms have been professionally refinished as well. Measures overall 86″ L x 30″ H x 32″ D with a Seat Depth of 22.5″. Sofa retains the original tags as well as my upholsterers tags. This is a great vintage original Modeline (Adrian Pearsall style) Mid-Century Modern floor lamp. 5′ tall x 10 in diameter. It is unusual – I’ve never seen this exact lamp before, with the continuous piece of wood that encircles the shade. It has a center pull for turning on and off. Adrian Pearsall by LANE Kidney Shape Coffee Table Mid-Century Walnut Rare Piece. Adrian Mount Pearsall was born in Trumansburg New York. As a young man he went to the University of Illinois and studied Architectural Engineering. He graduated in 1950. He was also a keen sailor but what he is most noted for is his contribution to mid century modern furniture design. Adrian Pearsall founded Craft Associates in Pennsylvania in 1952 to manufacture his own designs. By the late 1950’s his designs incorporating walnut became hugely popular and cemented Pearsall as a Designer to be reckoned with. He had great flair as a designer and was brave and modern in his approach. No doubt his Architectural background influenced this. His designs were considered to be part of the’Atomic Age’ design at the time and are now icons of this design period. Excellent condition, with normal signs of wear as shown above. I cant find a label but after some basic research youll see similar models. The fabric (felt like material) upholstery is unbelievable. The children said their mother paid a fortune for it when they were children (60s) and NO ONE was allowed to sit in it up to her death. Ive never seen anything like it. The first picture was taken in the Long Island home. Condition is very good for its age. The legs have some wear. It measures 91 (65+26) x 26 x 26H. Its part of an estate from Long Island, NY. The lady lost her husband in 1967 and left everything as is. She passed in March. Ill be listing more furniture in the coming days. All mid century and being from the same estate. This is a hobby. Im not an expert on anything. Feel free to ask questions… What a cool piece. Rare Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates (tag attached) cloud / serpentine sofa in immaculate original condition. I acquired this sofa in 1998 from the original owners who had it in a dry basement and rarely used it. I have occasionally sat on the sofa the past 20 years since owning it, but it has never been a main use piece. It has the original thick silver crushed velvet upholstery that is soft, shows no signs of deterioration, has no holes, or signs of wear. It retains the original Craft Associates tag. The foam is soft and has no issues. There is only one faint spot, about 3 inches by 3 inches, that appears to be stained (see picture with white box around the area). It is only noticeable very close, in direct light, if you know where it is. It blends in with the crushed texture variation for the most part. I have never tried anything on it for fear of damaging the upholstery. There is a built in walnut planter / bar / whatever you want that curves on the front and contours to the sofa. It is not attached to the sofa which is nice for cleaning, moving, etc. This sofa is a show stopper. It is THE conversation piece, and is guaranteed to blow peoples minds when they see it. This sofa is one of the most rare Adrian Pearsall models. The past five years, and only two others have come up for sale that I have seen. I will send more pics upon request or answer any questions.
