Original LCM (Lounge Chair Metal) by Charles Eames with o riginal black aniline dye finish. This chair has been dated to 1964 – it bears the Herman Miller Double Ring Black Medal on the underside of the seat. This label was only used in 1964 for the LCM chairs and is quite hard to find. Total height: 27 3/8. Seat Height: 15 1/4. This chair is 57 years old and shows wear commensurate with age. There are light scratches on the surface. Some of the paint on the chair has been lost. The seat is detached and has some scratches in the paint. The underside of the seat is excellent. The backrest has been drilled and is loose. The legs have the normal pitting seen on these chairs due to age. Overall this chair would be a great candidate for restoration, and would make an excellent addition to your mid century home! Part of the first group of commercially released furniture designs by Charles and Ray Eames, the 1946 LCM was one of two lounge chair options in the newly developed post war molded plywood. Initially manufactured by Evans, Herman Miller took over full production from 1949 and have made the design, without interruption, ever since. Over the years they have released the chair in a whole host of veneer finishes including Rosewood, Calico Ash, Walnut, Cherry and Palisander. Rare Mid Century Quartz and Bronze Coffee Table by Richard Blow for Montici. Rare, stunning, coffee table with book matched quartz top and bronze frame designed by the artist Richard Almond Blow circa 1950’s. The table is marked Made In Italy with his Montici “M” studio mark. Richard Blow was an American artist whose Florentine workshop Montici produced the finest Pietre Dure during the mid 20th century. The Optifico or Museo delle Pietre Dure in Florence now contains a great many of Blow’s pictures, the only ones considered worthy to hang with works created before the Medici family disappeared. Other Blow pictures, boxes, obelisks, and tabletops enrich the homes of wealthy collectors and his family all over the world. After completing 1500 of these stone masterpieces Richard passed away in 1992 and his workshop in Santa Margherita a Montici will produce no more of his original designs. Adrian Pearsall Craft Associates Chair. All-original included faded tag. Included in the photos above is the original stock photo which shows the catalog number which I can’t read off the photo (too fuzzy and unfocused). These “Crafts Originals” were made in the mid to late 1960s. Not many of these pieces were made because they were “originals” and Pearsall emphasized the unique quality of these designs and was constantly inventing new ones and moving on to the next new design.
