Stunning design by the renowned Swedish artist Lisa Larson. Extremely rare bird shaped stoneware wall plaque with magnificent jewell-like embossed decorations to represent the birds feathers. It is nice and sparkly but this does not show properly in the photos. The colour of the jewell like decorations, legs and eye is a deep petrol blue (greenish blue) but looks more black from far. Some parts in-between are cobalt blue. It has a matt finish on the neck, tail and edges which are off-white with warm brown shading. The colour inside the wing is light blue with yellow highlights and a semi matt finish. 25cm wide (from beak to tail) x 16cm tall x 3cm deep. Vintage item in EXCELLENT CONDITION. No chips, no cracks, no marks from wear or unpleasant odours. GUSTAVSBERG on the back. Offered for your careful review and consideration is this killer vintage Marcello Fantoni (Italy) Modernist bas-relief, ceramic figurative plaque from Fantoni’s 1950’s’Caveman’ series of glaze decorated, figurative, 2-dimensional light wall sculptures, featuring an assortment of cavemen, their cavemen wives and cavemen children, often depicted humorously with tamed, seemingly benevolent lions, as sorts of domesticated pets and extensions of the cavemen nuclear family. Fantoni clearly was having fun here (perhaps a little too much fun) with this popular series, not nearly as high-minded and as conceptually lofty as his famous, otherworldly glazed ceramic vessels, which made him internationally famous. Signed and with the original affixed Gump’s San Francisco, California luxury retailer’s branded label still on the back. There’s not a whisper on it. It’s in simply incredible condition for those who crave the best and demand near perfection. This vintage Marcello Fantoni’Caveman’ series decorated figurative ceramic plaque of a caveman, cavewoman and a rather friendly, benevolent lion, delivers. Gump’s was a luxury American home furnishings and home décor retailer, founded in 1861 in San Francisco, California. The company was liquidated in 2018. Very good to Excellent, pristine, near immaculate overall condition. Not a whisper on it. If God pooped ice cream sundaes, this would be it.
