This is a fabulous example of an Atomic Age Mid Century Modern Globe stye Lamp by Tye of California. It is signed by them in the base. The base is pottery and the shade is original and hand sewn. It has the very hard to find fish motif that was so popular in the 50’s. It works and is a splendid find. The shade sits on top of the bulb. This was at my mother’s house and it never had a harp with it but I’m sure you could add one if you wanted to for some reason. The shade is approx 16 tall. Up for sale is a sectional sofa designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard. Each have an armrest that can be moved to a few angles, presumably for sleeping – turning the armrests to headrests. Please read some detailed notes on the condition. It is in very good condition but not mint. The finish looks good throughout. All hardware is intact and functional. The hinged sides are mechanically sound. The condition of the burnt orange vinyl is great – even in color, and not stretching, ripping, or brittle anywhere. It has the usual scuffs, dings, areas of faded finishes, and very minimal upholstery defects you would expect for a piece of its age. The vinyl has some very small nicks in it. Hard to notice unless looking for them. One section of the caning is damaged. Finally, the seat-back support could use some reinforcement. I say could because it would be at the buyers discretion. It is stable and functionally useable as is, but maybe could use some added stability if the sectional will be freestanding (away from the support of a wall) or under heavy use. Lastly, It seems to me that whomever did the original assembly put some of the pieces in reverse. I cant be sure of this but the seatback supports have stain and finish on the side that the cushion faces, but are untreated on the side that faces outward. I dont think this is much of an issue but should be factored in when deciding the placement of the couch in your home. If the back is visible you may want to have these pieces finished, or you may want to flip the pieces so that the original stain faces outward as intended (this would require drilling some new holes, since the screws are not placed symmetrically). For sale is a pair vintage end tables. These are the rare rolling cube tables in Lane’s famous “Acclaim” line, style 900-98. The tables are in good shape for it’s age, though they have a few knocks, small chips, and scratches. Each made of walnut with black laminate tops, and measures approx 14″ x 14″ x 14. It would be a great addition to any mid century home. I live in Waco and can meet as far north as Dallas and as far south as Austin in the central Texas area for this sale.
