Unusual MAJESTIC LAMP CORPORATION CO Sculptural Spiral or Snake like shaped brass gold -color metal, original oval cylindrical cylinder shaped parchment??? Sits on a black kidney shaped metal base. Has a brass cylindrical finial & a brass cylinder weight on the pull chain switch. Simple minimalist art sculptural table lamp light. Vintage 1930’s 1940’s 1950’s era lamp. Very mcm midcentury mid-century modern. Measures about 29″h to top of final, 26″h top of harp, 20″h to top of socket, Shade is 13.75″t x 8.75″diameter, Base is 7″L. Vintage preowned used condition. Brass has patina & needs to be polished. Believe there use to be felt on underside but it’s missing. Shade has staining in a few holes where trim cord threaded through & musty smell. Lamp & shade have dust dirt marks scuffs rust, wear consistent with age & use. Plug is cracked & needs replacement. Light bulb NOT included. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage MAJESTIC table lamp complete with its original matching cylindrical fiberglass shades. The lamp takes on an atomic / floral appearance. Materials: Ebonized wood, brass, metal floral leaves in black and gold. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch on the bottom of the base which allows for three-way functionality… One twist lights up the two main sockets, a second twist allows the two small sockets within the brass cups to light up, and a third and final twist lights everything up at once. The fiberglass shades are designed to thread directly onto the light sockets. At the same time, it’s both a fantastic and strange lamp that’ll light up any modern interior setting! Measurements: With the shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 28″ tall (measured from he bottom of the base to the top of the higher shade) x 20″ wide. Each of the shades measures approx. 8″ tall x 6″ in diameter. The rounded oval base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11.5″ wide x 6″ deep. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. There are a few cosmetic things which we’ll mention here. First off, the oval rounded base looks to have been repainted at one point in time. There is a little wear to the black color, mainly on the back side where the flat metal panels come into contact with the base (see photos). It isn’t anything major whatsoever, but we’re mentioning it to be accurate. The black center metal panel has a faint scratch mark on it, but being that it’s black, it’s really hard to notice – you have to be looking for it to notice it. The shades are free from rips, holes, tears, stains, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks like it may have been redone – it’s completely intact with no issue to report. The green felt on the underside of the lamp had disintegrated, so we took it upon ourselves to replace it. Under the felt if the original “Majestic” label (see photo). When applying the new felt, we only adhered it around the edges so as to not allow any adhesive to get onto the label itself. The electrical wiring is in good shape – no frays, split, exposed and/or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage MAJESTIC table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp base is constructed of banded brass components, and has both off-white and black wooden accent pieces. The shades are an off-white color, and they have brown squiggly filaments running throughout. There is an on/off toggle switch located on the base which allows the lamp 3-way functionality: either one or the other sockets can be lit up independently of the other, or both can be set to light up at the same time. There is a protective cork pad on the underside of the base which looks like it may have been a replacement. Not sure if they original Majestic label is underneath that as we have not made an attempt to remove it to further investigate. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern interior setting! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands an impressive 35″ tall x 23″ wide. The distance to the upper light socket is approx. 27 high, and the lower socket approx. Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 8 deep. The black lacquered base at the bottom measures approx. 11″ wide x 7″ deep x 1.75 tall. Condition: While not perfect, overall we’d say the lamp is in very good, all-original vintage condition for its age. The banded brass components are in great shape – they shine nicely. The white wood component shows a little color variation between the front and back sides – possibly due to sunlight – we’re not 100% certain. The black wood components show a tiny amount of color loss, and it looks as though the base may have had color loss that was touched up at one point in time. None of this is really major, nor does it affect anything – we’re solely making mention of it for accuracy. Moving onto the shades. The front and back panels of the shades are in great shape. The upper-most part of the panels have a few cracks in the material. Everything is intact and tight with respect to the cracks, and they can only be noticed if you are looking down at them, and even then they are hard to see because they blend away with the brown squiggle filaments in the shade material (see photos). These cracks most likely resulted from a previous owner not putting on / taking off the shades with care. Aside from that, the lacing is intact on both shades and there are no burn marks or anything like that on either of them. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Both parcels will be fully insured for the final value of the sale. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage MAJESTIC table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shades. The lamp base is constructed of banded brass components, and has both off-white and black wooden accent pieces. The shades are an off-white color, and they have brown squiggly filaments running throughout. There is an on/off toggle switch located on the base which allows the lamp 3-way functionality: either one or the other sockets can be lit up independently of the other, or both can be set to light up at the same time. There is a protective cork pad on the underside of the base which looks like it may have been a replacement. Not sure if they original Majestic label is underneath that as we have not made an attempt to remove it to further investigate. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern interior setting! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands an impressive 35″ tall x 23″ wide. The distance to the upper light socket is approx. 27 high, and the lower socket approx. Each of the fiberglass shades measures approx. 13″ wide x 8″ tall x 8 deep. The black lacquered base at the bottom measures approx. 11″ wide x 7″ deep x 1.75 tall. Condition: While not perfect, overall we’d say the lamp is in very good, all-original vintage condition for its age. The banded brass components are in great shape – they shine nicely. The white wood component shows a little color variation between the front and back sides – possibly due to sunlight – we’re not 100% certain. The black wood components show a tiny amount of color loss, and it looks as though the base may have had color loss that was touched up at one point in time. None of this is really major, nor does it affect anything – we’re solely making mention of it for accuracy. Moving onto the shades. The front and back panels of the shades are in great shape. The upper-most part of the panels have a few cracks in the material. Everything is intact and tight with respect to the cracks, and they can only be noticed if you are looking down at them, and even then they are hard to see because they blend away with the brown squiggle filaments in the shade material (see photos). These cracks most likely resulted from a previous owner not putting on / taking off the shades with care. Aside from that, the lacing is intact on both shades and there are no burn marks or anything like that on either of them. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Both parcels will be fully insured for the final value of the sale.
