The wrappers are a little worn with some creasing and inevitable light bumping to the corners. Internally the pages are vibrant and clean although at some point the catalogue must have been stored in damp conditions as there is rippling to the pages and some colour bleed through throughout. I have highlighted this in the multiple photographs provided. Please study them closely. In my opinion the faults are not too disturbing and do not detract significantly from what is a truly scarce and much sought after twentieth century design artefact. This has been in my collection for several years and is a somewhat reluctant sale. An opportunity to acquire truly spectacular document of mid-century twentieth century design. Featuring the most wonderful, ingenious colour coded schematic design by Matter, exemplary product photography and the highest production values. Original Knoll Tulip Chair by Eero Saarinen. In the hard to find Yellow. Here is an original Tulip Chair by Eero Saarinen, made by Knoll. It retains the original tags. It has the original yellow upholstery and the original unrestored finish. There is some light staining on the upholstery but for being yellow its a true survivor. The base is tight like it should be – no wobble. The fiberglass is excellent condition – no cracks or chips. Light marks on the shell and base. Please check out my other items for sale! Vintage 1960’s Jens Risom aluminum group armless sofa. This rarely seen aluminum framed sofa is absolutely stunning. Reupholstered a few years ago in exquisite Grey Knoll Velvet (Mohair). Minimal flourishes include an aluminum back bar, and a nine button seat back. Note seat imperfections hence the low price. This sofa is the most comfortable armless sofa you’ll ever sit on. It measures 6’6″L x 32″ T x 31″D, with a seat of 15 1/2″ at it’s highest point. The foam and suspension are excellent. The frame is very nice and would polish up even nicer (we like the patina). The velvet fabric is the most forgiving upholstery we’ve ever seen. It hides almost all of the minor scuffs and scrapes from use. Teflon glides pictured were just temporary. There is one, very small (like less than 1/8 round) hole that does not go all the way through the fabric, located on the front of the seat of the sofa, left side (facing the sofa). Only noticeable if you are looking for it. It cannot be seen in any of the photos. Overall, excellent vintage condition. Design Lawrence Laske, 1993 this example 1998. Solid Polished Aluminum, Birdseye Maple Top. Production of this design was retired in 2012, and there are very few examples of this table. I think the best part of this table is that it is no longer in production, unlike many of the other productions from Knoll, Herman Miller, Fritz Hansen, and Cassina. Condition: Excellent condition, aluminum is shiny and pristine, Birdseye Maple top excellent, no scratches, gouges, nicks, stains to top, only a few very very minor nicks to edge of top, please see photos. Easily rate entire table a 9.5/10. I will make a foam lined box, separating the top from base. MID CENTURY KNOLL CONVERTIBLE DAYBED SOFA By Richard Shultz Manufactured around 1960, this sofa can be pulled out to convert into a bed. This sofa will need some work. The cushion material on the back support and armrests is disintegrating, The fabric is in pretty good condition but the armrest are a bit worn and need cleaning. On the under side there are 2 metal coils that were used to apply tension to make it easier to pull out the bed but the screws holding them broke out and will need to be reconnected, however, the bed can be converted without them. There are 2 bars that were reconnected with new bolts and nuts. It measures 7′ long, 30 ” deep, 29″ high (top of back), seat cushion is 14 high. It extends 8 pulled out. Rare 1952/53 Jens Risom designed sofa for Hans Knoll. This important piece is one of Risom’s first designs. Made for Hnas Knoll’s furniture company (before his wife Florence joint the design firm). Appears to be original wool beige/ivory hopsack upholstery which is hand stitched at corners. Arm design have a Hans Wegner “Papa Bear” chair vibe. This is an iconic design from a well known designer and well worth the effort to refurbish. Overall dimensions: 78 long x 31 tall x 31 depth. Structurally, wood frame in very good, sturdy condition. The metal springs in the center seat section are broken in a few places so will need repair or replacement before reupholstery. Upholstery is in good enough condition with only a couple stains and can be carefully removed and used as a pattern for reupholstery.
