Jonathan Adler Couture Line Handmade MCM Style. Made by Jonathan Adler early in his career. Marked Jonathan Adler Couture which is his higher end line and every piece is handmade by him. Nice MCM style vase with no chips and one crack in the inside bottom of the vase as shown in photos. Two manufacturers defects one of which is a minor flaw in the top rim that is not 100% perfect and shows it’s great craftsmanship and that is is handmade. There are also specs/ash pieces in the glaze as shown in photos. Great vintage condition and an amazing collectors piece. I have yet to find one the same as this on the market today. The blue and green painted dots help give this gorgeous piece a pop. Please see all photos for exact condition. Measures 8 1/4″H x 4 5/8″L x 2 3/4W. Rare Early 1947 Charles Lakofsky Studio Stoneware Pottery Bowl Wheel Thrown MCM
This approximately 2.5. X 7.75 handmade. Bowl is a great example of Charles Lakofsky’s award-winning studio pottery. Attractive and rare early example, with no damage whatsoever. This piece was wheel-thrown, and is glazed with a layered temmoku glaze in high gloss. Stunning Mid-Century Modern piece, perfect for any interior. Hand-painted marks include CHARLES LAKOFSKY and 1947. Made while he was still in graduate school, and before he began teaching at BGSU. Fascinating expressive and functional work. This was something I created in collaboration with the three venues that showed this exhibition: Zanesville Museum of Art, the Cleveland Artists Foundation (today called ArtNEO), and Bowling Green State University’s Art Gallery. For decades, starting about 1949, he taught art and frequently chaired the department at BGSU. The “Charlie pots” as his colleagues and admirers affectionately knew them demonstrate his finesse as a “functional potter, ” while often also embodying technical challenges overcome or sculptural elements that enlarge their appeal and success. Lakofsky won awards throughout his career, and his ceramics are found in numerous public and private collections. I’m Mark Bassett, author and collector. I frequently recommend the group Pottery Collector on Facebook. Great place for beginners and advanced collectors to mingle and learn more about art pottery and studio pottery of all sorts. As an AAPA member, I abide by their Code of Ethics. Please let me know within 3 days, if you want to return the piece. Rare Early BORGE MOGENSEN #2221 SAFARI CHAIR in Orig. Cognac Saddle Leather/Oak
A very rare and early (60s or even 50s) example of this model 2221, a chair of this vintage rarely appears on the market, one mainly sees imitations. This chair also has an Oak, as opposed to the more common and cheaper Beech, frame, which has a beautiful patina. The original cognac saddle leather also has a rich and lovely patina that only decades of use can produce. Only “blemish” is a small indentation in the seat (see pic #9), doesn’t go through the leather, merely cosmetic. Don’t settle for a cheap imitation -or even an Arne Norell’Sirocco’, cool but too common, go on a “really” rare safari: Børge M. Icelandic Sheepskin NOT included -but I would recommend one. Dims: 27.75″H 22.5″W 23D. This item is in the category “Antiques\Furniture\Other Antique Furniture”. The seller is “tulfoy” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
