Eames Purple La Fonda Alexander Girard Herman Miller Chair Original Vintage Rare
For your consideration is one (1) uber rare, EAMES LA FONDA Chair with the even rarer Alexander Girard original purple melange (the thread composition appears to be purple, blue, and pink if you look closely, but the overriding color impression is purple) pin check fabric. Note: The price is for one (1) complete chair (both armshell and base with mounting screws). Stunning chair with a sleek silhouette. Looks gorgeous in every angle. “Herman Miller” embossed on the bottom of the cream parchment armshell, along with a date stamp of March 27, 1975. Overall great vintage condition with age appropriate wear, notably superficial surface soiling on the fabric (which can be removed with the proper cleaner). However, the seams are tight, the foam on the seat is still soft and plush, and the chair is structurally sound overall. This is a true collector’s chair, vintage and all-original in a rare style and the ever-desirable and highly-coveted purple Girard fabric. This is mounted on the wood as shown. The wooden frame pieces will not- no- not included- fabric only will be mailed with care. It is stapled on the back- it has holes from the staples- some of the area are torn from coming undone from the staples. The fabric is longer then stated from being folded onto the back. Rare Eames Herman Miller 1705 Alexander Girard swivel side chair La Fond
I have four of these 1968 original 1705’s for sale. The chairs all feature a La Fonda side shell top of a contract base. All four chairs are in original unrestored condition and are labeled and marked. The chairs are in very good condition. They show some signs of wear that are consistent with their age and history. There are scratches and scuffs on the fiberglass shells and the aluminum bases could all use some polishing. All of the casters roll nicely and the chairs swivel freely. One of the chairs has a couple of light scratches and one small burn mark on the seat. The seats on the other chairs are in terrific shape with no noticeable marks. 29″h x 18 3/4″ w x 20 d.
