Very rare Eames Aluminum Group chair from the first year of production, in original saran upholstery by Alexander Girard. Originally conceived as outdoor furniture, the saran did not wear well and was not used after the first year of production. It is in good vintage condition with wear to the upholstery as shown. Section of 5 marcel Breuer designed theatre chairs. 34″ x 90″ x 24. Areas of discoloration, minor tears, seam separation on green canvas. Would shows mild chipping and paint loss. Mild bending on metal bar the binds the chair together. Provenance: The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have roughly 7 rows of 5 with a handful of remnant pieces to complete the rows.
