After purchasing 2 books of Haeger pottery so that I can research this cat, I have found that it is identified as An Egyptian cat and it was in the Haeger 1957 catalog. Someone started listing these cats as winking cats, for obvious reasons, but the company classified it as an Egyption cat and the color is Mandarin Orange. It is an amazing piece of art! They are difficult to locate in this bright orange color. And he is 21 inches tall and nearly 5 pounds. Other orange cats that you will find online are only 15 inches tall. He is nearly perfect for his age. You can see a little chipping on the bottom, and the glaze looks a little spotty in a couple areas. I’m not going to say that this is a one of a kind, but, you just aren’t going to find another like it for sale. See photos and thanks for looking.
