RARE 1956 George Nelson Herman Miller Dresser Cabinet Walnut Marble Black Frame. Listed for sale is a rare vintage George Nelson for Herman Miller black frame and walnut cabinet/dresser. This cabinet dates to circa 1956 and is one of the rarer George Nelson case good designs around. Moreover, this example was custom ordered with a marble top. While I was first skeptical of this marble, I discovered upon exploring the underside that this is a factory-correct marble top. The piece is marked with HM factory marks and uses an innovative solution for securing the marble. Eames shock mounts were taken and glued to the marble as a means of connecting it to the cabinet. Very exciting for a Herman Miller collector or enthusiast. The original Herman Miller round label is still present within the top drawer. Wood: Wood faces are in exceptionally nice condition with minimal notable wear. Metal: Legs are in excellent shape with some light wear.
